Literature Text

Hands worked to fill cups carefully with the desired beverage. Fingers curled around the pen, swirling as they wrote the letters elegantly. Eyes focused on the cup in front of you as your lips parted for that one question you repeat time after time again. “May I know your name?” The words, former so foreign to you, slipped from your mouth. Working on a Monday morning in rush-hours made you dull your senses. Being yelled at for getting a name wrong before had been ruining your job quite a bit. A girl, around your age had been throwing a fit as you wrote the name of her favourite character wrong at the first try. ‘So what?’ Someone would have asked if they had heard it. ‘It wasn’t even her real name.’ Who would have thought that same girl would demand to speak with the manager only because you questioned her sanity about that same wrongly written name. ‘Khaleesi’. Her paling face as you told her she was already speaking to the owner of the coffee-bar was priceless, even when the girl would never come back again.

“Sabo.”

The pen stopped mid-air as you looked up at the male in front of you, raising your eyebrows. His golden locks were dishevelled as his fingers ran through them, urging the strands to fall back in place. His ocean blue eyes flitted from place to place, not daring to land on your own inspecting eyes. The scar under his left eye was partially hidden by the blond locks, making him a little mysterious to the interested eye. A smile curled up your lips as you wrote down the first thing popping up in your mind, watching the slightly uncomfortably man in front of you. “Cute.” The word was softly said, yet the male caught it up and his eyes stared at you immediately. Not that you would have noticed, writing down the nickname and turning around to make his vanilla latte.

After warming up the milk, you poured it into the cup, having sweetened it with vanilla extract. The leaf you had created while pouring, stayed as beautiful as you had hoped. A lid was placed upon the cup and with a smile, you turned around to give the waiting male his drink. “Have a nice day.” You grinned, waving a goodbye to him.

Pink started to dust his cheeks, a small smile adorning his features. “Good day.” He murmered before turning away and taking long strides, walking away from you.

“Even cuter.” Taking a wet cloth in your hand, you started to take away the stained spot on your bench. The bell chimed, echoing in the room you had worked in for the last year, making you look up from your cleaning. The same man from before walked up to you, looking downcast, redness still on his cheeks. “Yes? May I help you once again?” You asked uncertainly, looking up at him confused.

His hand rubbed the back of his neck, his head turning away from you. The look he gave to the window was one of nervousness, his exhale wavering as he turned back to you. “May I have another vanilla latte?” His cheeks turned to a deeper red as his eyes were still downcast, not daring to look you in the eye at all.

“Of course, Sabo.” You said, chuckling softly by his behaviour. His eyes lifted to meet yours and he send you a smile. As you wanted to turn away from him, your eyes caught sight of a strawberry haired girl, staring into the bar intently. Her gaze was focussed on the blond haired male, glaring slightly as Sabo turned his face away from yours once again, his own gaze wandering over the collections of pastry and sweets in the see-through counter. “Your friend?” You asked, making him jump upon hearing your voice.

Sabo turned and looked at the window as you pointed at it. His gaze met the one of the girl, who gave him a thumps up and a grin. “Y-yeah.” He admitted. Humming in response, you turned your back to him and started to make his beverage as tasty as possible.

“She looks nice.” The sentence slipped from your lips, making the male tense upon hearing them.

“Trust me, she isn’t.” His laugh was nervous and once again, his hand was raised to rub the back of his neck, his behaviour resembling something like bashfulness. “She acts more like the devil sometimes, like right now.” He whispered, making you giggle softly. The hot cup was placed in front of him, steam coming from the small opening in the lid. “Thank you, uh..”

“(y/n).” You said, holding out your hand for a short shake. His calloused hand was warm in the palm of your hand. His fingers curled around your hand, holding you firm but gently. “Nice to meet you.”

“Same.” He let go of your hand slowly before taking a hold of his newly made cup and walking away from you with a blush. Right before he grabbed the door handle and twisted it, he looked back at you. He raised the hand with the cup and smirked towards you, making you blush now instead. Giving him a small wave, he left the bar to yourself.

Picking up your cloth, your eyes flickered to a piece of paper that wasn’t there before. Your fingers picked it up and (e/c) eyes read the words written. “You’re cute too. Let’s be cute together. Sabo.” With a number noted under his message. The smile that had reformed your lips didn’t leave your face for the rest of the day.

Extended ending
“Please tell me you gave her the right number to call, Sabo.” Koala whined as the both of them walked away from the small building. Sabo looked down at his female friend, giving her a toothfilled grin.

“Absolutely.”

‘Ping’

“See! Told you she would text me.” Sabo said, taking out his phone, just to see he didn’t receive the text-message. “Huh?”

Koala reached in her pocket for her phone and looked up at him with a frown. “You gave her my number, didn’t you?” A heavy sigh left her lips as she closed her eyes, holding the bridge of her nose between a finger and thumb, rubbing over it soothingly.

Sabo stood still in his way, groaning as he grabbed the roots of his hair with his fingers. “I’m an idiot.” He muttered.

Koala wacked his head repeatedly with a huff, before throwing her phone in his hands and walking away, letting her blond friend stare at her in disbelieve. “Make the most of it, you cute idiot!” She yelled as she turned towards him one last time.
So.. a coffeebar employee asked me the same thing, just being more flirtatious.
Hmm, it's a short drabble for :iconpiratedreamer:
I hope you like it, for I have really no clue how to give enough credits to Sabo at all *emberassed*
Maybe next time I'll get him portrayed better?

Please have a nice day, dearies~
